319. Peace of Westphalia in 1648

Revolutionary and monumental treaties, signed in 1648, ended several European Wars and created the framework for moderm international relations, including the administration of North American colonies. These influential agreements and the resulting Westphalian tradition of sovereignty and precedents greatly impacted the Western world and the development of North America.
